What we believe
We stand within the historic stream of orthodox Christianity, holding fast to the essentials of the faith once for all delivered to the saints.
Article 1
We believe the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired Word of God, profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Article 2
We believe salvation is personal and by faith, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Every person must repent and be reconciled to their Creator by confessing with the mouth and believing in the heart (Romans 3:23; 4:16; 10:9-10).
Article 3
We believe a person must be born again of water and of the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:5).
Article 4
We believe in water baptism as evidence of the new faith we profess and for the remission of sins, administered in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38).
Article 5
We believe in the present-day Church and in the five ministry offices established by Jesus — apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers — for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Corinthians 12).
Article 6
We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, when the dead in Christ shall rise first, and then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
Article 7
We believe there will be a great final judgment before which all will appear; God will judge the living and the dead, rewarding each according to their works. The devil, his angels, and all whose names are not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Hebrews 9:27; 2 Peter 3:7; Romans 2:6; 1 Corinthians 3:13).
Article 8
We believe in the manifestation and presence of angels, sent to serve God's ministers and to execute the word that proceeds from our mouth (Hebrews 1:14; Acts 5:19-20; 8:26).
Article 9
We believe Jesus is the Son of God, conceived by the power of the Most High — the Holy Spirit — in the womb of Mary (Luke 1:35; Matthew 1:20).
Article 10
We believe we are a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, a holy nation, belonging to a new and better covenant with a priesthood after the order of Melchizedek, King of Salem. We now live under grace and not under the law (Hebrews 7:1-19; Genesis 14:18-20).
Article 11
We believe in celebrating the Lord's Supper in memory of our Lord — eating the bread, a symbol of His body, and drinking the cup, a symbol of His blood in the new covenant. As often as we do this, we proclaim the Lord's death until He comes (Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
Article 12
We believe Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, knowing that greater works we shall do in His name, and that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, so that the manifold wisdom of God may now be made known through the Church to the principalities and powers in heavenly places (Hebrews 13:8; Ephesians 3:10; John 14:12).
Article 13
We believe in offerings and giving, knowing that under the new and better covenant of grace each one must give voluntarily, with joy and not grudgingly or of necessity, as they have been prospered; the laborer is worthy of his wages, and those who preach the gospel may live by it (1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 9:7).
